The brands's name combines the German words "Berg" (mountain) and "Fabel" (fable), reflecting its focus on timeless, heirloom-quality pieces that blend traditional styles with modern tailoring. 

Designer Klaus Plank uses natural materials, careful attention to detail, and handcrafted elements to create clothing that feels both familiar and contemporary. Each garment comes adorned with its signature pouch of lavender picked from Plank's mother's garden as a personal touch.
